Welcome to the splendora high school
color guard
The Splendora High School Color Guard is made up of 9-12th grade students that learn dance with the addition of props. Their primary skill set is in the art of tossing flags, rifles, and sabres. Students learn many forms of dance and movement to help develop artistic expression in their craft.
In the fall, the Color Guard performs as an auxiliary unit to the marching band. They add character, color, and expression to the show through the use of costuming, acting, dance, and tossing skills. In the spring season, the Color Guard participates in an independent showcase called Winter Guard. This is a competitive organization that performs indoors without the assistance of the band.
The Color Guard program offers students the opportunity to be involved in music and dance in a new and exciting way. For more information or to join the program, please see a band director.
